After a change in the director of athletics early in the fall 2014 semester, student athletes were unsure what to expect when it came to filling the position.
When the spring 2015 semester started, student athletes had the opportunity to meet with the three candidates who applied for the position and provide feedback.
On Feb. 4 in a campus-wide email, the answer came. The new director of Athletics and Wellness at Cedar Crest is Allen Snook,Ph.D. in health sciences, licensed athletic trainer, athletic trainer certified.
Snook will bring his experience in leadership, recruiting, fundraising, academic advising, and sports medicine to the Falcon family. Not only will these experiences be an asset to the athletic department, but Snook will be a positive asset to the new Health Sciences department on campus.
Sophomore soccer player, Allison Rittle, is excited to see what Snook has to offer. “From what I’ve heard, he has a lot of ideas and is pretty passionate about bettering the program,” Rittle said.
Jamie Wojciechowski, sophomore tennis player, said “I think that his experience will greatly benefit our small school and allow both the school and the athletic department to grow.”
Snook is tentatively set to start as the Director of Athletics on March 2.
