Which Class Will Win?

By: Rebekkah Parsons, Copy Editor.

Calling all students, faculty and staff!

Do you like to have fun? Are you looking for a time to relax? Are you interested in a chance to get together with other people and have fun with your old friends while meeting new ones?

If you said yes to any of the questions, then it’s time to kick start our new year with a little friendly competition! It’s Class Olympics time and we want to know which class will reign superior and seal the win this year! So get ready to lead your class to a Falcon Style victory!

For those who might not know, class olympics is “an inter-class competition where students will participate in various events to represent and earn points for their class” said Sarah Wolcott, Assistant Director of Athletics for Wellness and Head Women’s Soccer Coach.

The event is all about having fun after the first week of classes, while bringing people together in one place. It’s very simple to get involved in this fun: just show up!

You don’t have to be athletic to be a part of this event!  You can show your artsy side with the crafts that are available.

To ignite the fun of this inter-class competition, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, SAAC, will be hosting a carnival on Aug 31 on Lees Lawn. There will be games, a caricature artist and even a blow up obstacle course as well as some food available.

The class who comes out on top will win free Rita’s!

There will be drawings at every event, so if you show up you have a chance to win some cool (and free) prizes!

“It’s all about fun!” said Wolcott. “We want to kick off the school year with some fun and this is an event where everyone can come out, relax and have some fun. Whether you’re into the competitions, want to come and cheer on classmates, or you’re feeling artsy and want to make some chalkboard glasses, which will be really cool. There’s something fun for everyone!”

So put down those books, slip on your shoes and head over to a class Olympics event!

“Have pride in your class! Come participate in Class Olympics!” said Wolcott.

May the odds be forever in your favor and the best class win.
